The Opportunity

Springfield Vista is a vibrant community, nestled amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, and sets a new standard in retirement living. Working as our Chef Manager, you'll lead your kitchen to success by providing exquisite catering & hospitality services that exceed the satisfaction of residents. You'll enjoy connecting with residents, being extremely hands-on, understanding food safety principles and ensuring sufficient supplies of goods & ingredients. Most importantly, you'll have a passion for food and delivering a gold standard of service. This position is highly autonomous so if you prefer working solo in a kitchen, this is a position for you!

This is a fixed-term contract until March 2026 working Saturday-Wednesday 10.30-6.30pm.

You will:

  • Be responsible for all kitchen and dining operations by preparing and cooking for lunch & dinner services
  • Work closely with staff to deliver great service, ensure the restaurant is running smoothly and coordinating ideas for events and functions
  • Monitor daily Food Safety checklists and ensure strict adherence to all OH&S policies
  • Complete stock management of all goods including ordering, rotation and amendments
  • Following up on day-to-day operational issues including adhering to schedules, cleaning lists and performance issues

What you'll bring:

  • Experience working in a small kitchen as a Chef in a kitchen setting (e.g retirement villages, aged care, cafes, a la carte settings, RSLs or pubs etc.)
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)
  • Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
  • Kitchen management experience (ordering stock, rostering and admin experience)
  • Two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
