Role overview

Do you love to build genuine connections, nurture belonging and enhance life? At Aveo, you can do just that and more. Join us and feel confident to embrace new challenges in our supportive culture. Bring your whole-self to work, grow as you learn new things and be rewarded through the joy of helping others. Together let's redefine retirement living for senior Australians.

The Opportunity

Redlands by the Retirement Resort is a close-knit community set on maintained grounds featuring a beautifully restored Queenslander. This lifestyle resort community is located next to the waters of Moreton Island and we are looking for a Maintenance Gardener to join our team! Working closely with our small team, you will ensure our gardens, grounds, building and fixtures are well-maintained, presentable and safe for all to enjoy. You'll have the ability to work autonomously, connect with residents, spend time outdoors and be an 'all-rounder' when it comes to maintenance and gardening. This role is predominately gardening but you will enjoy completing maintenance requests too.

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday 7-3pm

What we offer:

  • $32.51/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances
  • All tools and supplies provided
  • Employee Referral Program and Employee Assistance Program
  • Discounts to Health Insurance and Retail & Leisure partner providers
  • Opportunities for further career progression
  • Be part of a friendly and supportive team in a caring retirement living community

You will

  • Attend to various maintenance requests to create a safe & pleasant environment for residents, visitors and staff
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of all village gardens including weeding, mowing, hedging, pruning, mulching and green waste removal
  • Ensure all community spaces are appealing and safe for residents and visitors
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks around the community as per schedules
  • Build strong relationships with our residents and enjoy helping them to live their best lives with well-maintained areas.

What you'll bring

  • An outgoing personality with an interest in making a difference every day
  • Experience in general maintenance or gardening roles, or possess 'handy' domestic skills (e.g painting, use of power tools and basic repairs etc)
  • Current Police Check certificate (required, but if you do not possess, we can complete for you)
  • Valid driver's licence and two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)
